Carnivals have this way of giving of a feeling of quirky child-like fun. And despite the gloomy weather, it had just that feeling, going to the Sustainival (the world's first green carnival!) here in Fort McMurray. This carnival, however, goes beyond the usual rides, festivities, games and concessions. The whole carnival is ran with biodiesel, derived from waste vegetable oil. It's a carnival gone totally green, making being environmentally friendly sound a lot more fun!
There are only two complaints though. For one, half the gaming booths did not have anyone manning them. And secondly, I really wish everyone who operated the concession stands wore gloves! Because I don't care if they wash their hands every minute, I really wouldn't want to eat anything handled with their bare hands! I even honestly saw a kid lick one hand while handing food with the other.
